The Kebaya, The Heritage of the Ages
There are various versions regarding the origins of the kebaya in Malaysia. It is said that the kebaya was brought by traders from Arabia, Java, and Sulawesi. There is also an opinion suggesting that the kebaya began to be favored by individuals from the 13th to the 16th century AD, during the Ming Dynasty rule in China, and this influence spread after large-scale immigration arrived in the South and Southeast Asian Peninsula.
